SOD PARAFIN SERIES
Many of our Loppet Points series are part of the SOD Parafin Series.
There is a specific waxing
protocol for this SOD Race Series. In order to increase accessibility to the
sport, focus on athlete development, and reduce costs, no glide waxes with
fluorocarbons are permitted. No Low Fluoro wax, High Fluoro wax,
powders, hardeners, or gels or other "voodoo" are permitted. This
restriction applies to all categories, including Open and Masters. This
restriction does not apply to grip waxes.

2018
ONTARIO CHAMPIONSHIPS
We are looking for a host
club for the 2018 Ontario Masters Championships. Any club or facility that is
willing to host the event is welcome to contact us, preferably before the 2017
Ontario Masters in Parry Sound. In 2018, the Canadian and World Masters will be
combined and take place in late January in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Therefore, a
preferable date for the Ontario Masters would be in the second half of February
or early March.
Any interested club or
organization should contact either Russ Evans revans@cogeco.ca
or Wendy Grater wendy@blackfeather.com.
MWC
2022
The year 2022 is the next
time that Canada is eligible to host the World Masters XC Ski races. The event
attracts approximately 1,200 master athletes who compete over an approximate 8
day schedule. Bruce LeGrow, our National Director, is looking for any venues
that may be keen to host this. In the past, Canada has hosted MWC events in
Canmore, Alberta, Quebec City, and Silver Star/Sovereign Lake, BC.
If you know of an
organization or ski facility who would be keen to host this event, please contact
Bruce LeGrow at bruce.legrow@nf.sympatico.ca.
Preferably before the Canadian Masters in Charlo in mid February.
Thanks!
