LOPPET POINTS SERIES

We will be having a season long point series of races again this year. Your time will be adjusted according to the age related handicapping tables and the fastest male and female skier will receive 100 points. Each skier will receive points according to the percentage his/her age adjusted time is behind the fastest skier.
1.  We will count the 5 best age adjusted races for each skier. Exception – skiers who reside in the Lake Superior Division will count their 4 best races.
2.  A skier must include at least 2 races from the Ontario Masters Championships in Hepworth (Owen Sound), Jan. 29 - 31.
3. A skier must be a member of the Ontario Masters Cross Country Ski Association at the time of the event to have his/her points tabulated for the event. An exception will be made for a skier who has never been a previous member of the association.

POINTS SERIES RESULTS
We received suggestions from several people to include in the point series, skiers who did not ski 2 races at the Ontario Masters Championships. Accordingly, please "Points System" tab for revised points calculations. No skier is able to count more than 3 loppets. Therefore, skiers who skied 0 or 1 race at the Ontario Masters Championships have a maximum of 300 or 400 points.
Legend   * - only 4 races have been tabulated
** - only 3 races have been tabulated
X - not included in point tabulation
Please report any errors to      revans@cogeco.ca

 ARCTIC CHALLENGE
Ontario Master skiers Wendy Grater and Katja Mathys successfully led a twelve day all-women ski touring expedition across Baffin Island’s Auyuittuq National Park in April.  The team of 18 women, including Wendy and Katja started the 100 km journey on April 11.  Pulling pulks (sleds) by skiing or with crampons (depending on snow/ice conditions), the group traveled across the Ashuyak Pass, crossing the Arctic Circle.  Enduring howling winds up to 80 km per hour and temperatures hovering between -20 and  -30 C, the journey was epic and an amazing experience.  A short article is attached.
