The 2017-18 Team Hardwood Masters XC Ski Training and Racing program is designed for Masters skiers who are interested in ski racing in loppets, local and regional races and in Masters races from the Ontario to the World Masters Championships. Coaching is provided by former National Ski Team and Team Hardwood coach, Jack Sasseville. Jack has been coaching for over 40 years at all levels from Jackrabbit to Masters and is a 4 time Olympic Team coach.
The group meets in the fall starting at the end of September on Saturday and Sunday mornings for ski walking and roller skiing sessions. Once the snow falls there is an added bonus session on Wednesday evenings.
The focus of the program is to help masters athletes to be the best skiers that they can be by improving their physical, technical, tactical, and mental skills. Skiers will also learn more about waxing and ski preparation. Skiers in the program will be given a fall and winter training program personally designed for them.
